House Rules
How ranking, bidding, and categories work
Ranking
- Spots are strictly ordered by total bid amount, descending — no manual curation of rank order.
- Rank changes take effect immediately once a payment is verified.
- Minimum bid is ₹100 (or $1+).
Boards
- All-Time Board: ranked by cumulative lifetime bids. Positions are permanent until outbid.
- Today's Board: ranked by bids placed in the current 24-hour cycle; totals reset daily.
- Hall of Fame: the top bidder overall and per category each week, snapshotted automatically every Monday.
Categories
Every listing belongs to one of our categories, from AI Agents & Infrastructure and Developer Tools to Crypto, Web3 & Investing, and many more — see the full category list. Category placement is set at submission.
Listing review
- A new listing goes live automatically the moment its first bid is paid and verified — there's no waiting period.
- Listings that violate the Terms of Service — illegal content, malware, phishing, or infringing material — will be removed if reported or discovered, even after payment; see the Refund Policy for what happens to that bid.
- Verified badges are granted at our discretion for established, recognizable brands.
- Founding Bidder badges are awarded automatically to the first 20 listings that ever clear a payment on BidSpot. It's permanent, can't be bought, and is never granted by hand — it only records that a listing was one of the first on the board.
Re-bidding your own listing
You can bid on your own site as many times as you like. Because we allow only one listing per website, a new bid on a site that's already on the board is added to that listing's existing total rather than creating a second listing — so ₹500 followed by ₹700 puts you at ₹1,200 and ranks you accordingly. Bidding on a site already listed by someone else tops up their listing in the same way; to compete against it instead, list your own site and outbid their total.
Fair use
- One listing per website/handle. Duplicate listings for the same destination may be merged or removed.
- Bots, scripted bidding, or payment manipulation will result in listing removal without refund.
- All bids are final once payment is confirmed — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy for the exceptions.
